On November 3rd 2008 The Lindner Golf & Wellness Resort very kindly hosted
the Robert Winsor Charity Golf presentation (235,000 euros) to the needy children of Mallorca,
Over 70 handicapped and disadvantaged children received wheelchairs, shower beds, walking machines, special cranes,
communicators and many other items that will considerably improve the quality of their lives,
20 centers caring for underprivedledged children on Mallorca all received donations.

Robert organised his first celebrity charity golf event in 1980, this was his 18th celebrity charity golf tournament - 8 in the U.K. and this was his 10th in Mallorca. 1,963.000 euros has been raised ( includes 70,000 euros for Dogs Like Us - Charity Golf ) and has been used to buy much needed necessities for disadvantaged children, details of items bought can be seen if you click on the link on this page. In 2002 Robert was made a honorary life member of Royal Bendinat Golf Club for his work for handicapped and underprivileged children in Mallorca, he was also made a honorary life member of Santa Ponsa Country Club for the same reason. On 11th June 2005 Robert was awarded an M.B.E. in the Queen's Birthday Honours for services to handicapped and disadvantaged children in Mallorca. Also, Robert was voted European Citizen of the year for Calvia and was presented with a plaque by Calvia's Mayor Carlos Delgado on European Day 6th May 2007. The 17 Institutions who care for handicapped and disadvantaged children on Mallorca arranged a Tribute Dinner for Robert and presented him with special Silver plaque inscribed with all the names of the Institutions, on Thursday 26th July 2007

"Big Ron" Atkinson
Started his playing career at the age of 17 with Aston Villa and then onto Oxford United where he made over 500 appearances as a wing-half. After retiring from playing, he moved into management with Kettering Town in 1971. His success there led to a move to the league with Cambridge United, going on to win the then Fourth Division in 1977 and then on to West Bromwich Albion, leading them to third place in the league in the season 1979/80 before catching the eye of Manchester United, one of England's biggest clubs. In June 1981 he became their manager winning two F.A. Cups during his tenure. He returned to West Brom for a year and then had a high-profile move to Atletico Madrid of Spain. He led Aston Villa to second place in the inaugural 1993 Premier League and to League Cup victory in 1994. His last managerial job came with Nottingham Forest. As a TV pundit Big Ron has given the "football insider" view and introduced "Ronglish" to a wider audience with terms like “early door” working their way into our everyday expressions. |

Big Yuyu The band was formed in 2006, from an experienced goup of musicians, playing blues and rock classics. Recently three new instrumentalists (a brass band) have joined the group, converting “Big Yuyu” into a septet with a great effect in a live show. It’s repertory is based in standards of the best blues, which they know how to make their own, giving each piece a touch of personality which has made them widely appreciated in Balearics Islands, Spain. |

Johnny Briggs, M.B.E.
Johnny Briggs is best known for his role as Mike Baldwin in the soap opera Coronation Street, in which he appeared from 1976 to 2006. A graduate of the Italia Conti Academy stage school, Briggs also had roles in a number of other British shows including Crossroads and No Hiding Place, as well as a number of Carry On films. He won the British Soap Award for Lifetime Achievement in May 2006, and was appointed an MBE in the New Year's Honours December 2006. Despite suggesting he was to retire from acting after leaving the street Briggs has appearances in both Miss Marple and Holby City lined up for 2007. |

Vince Earl
Vince Earl is one of the original Merseyside Rockers. He and his band, The Talismen were very much part of the sixties' scene, performing at virtually every major venue in the UK whilst under the label of Oriole Records. Eventually Vince joined Rory Storm and The Hurricanes to tour Germany and the continent. Their recording of America reached the charts and even made the number one slot in the state of Texas. In 1973, Vince formed The Vince Earl Attraction and became one of the top rated acts on the cabaret circuit. His TV and radio credits are numerous and include Starburst, Entertainment Express, Live from, etc., and was a regular performer on Granada TV's The Comedians. Receiving wide acclaim for his acting skills, some of the productions portraying his talents include 'Boys from the Blackstuff' and the film 'No Surrender'. He is currently known as Ron Dixon, one of the main characters in Channel 4's critically acclaimed Brookside. |

Norman Hunter
A tough competitor and a skilled defender, Hunter spent 16 years at Elland Road and his defensive partnership with Jack Charlton was the foundation for much of Leeds' success in that era. His England career saw him winning 28 caps for his country. In 1973 he was voted the first PFA Player of the Year, so it's clear that he enjoyed the respect and admiration of his fellow professionals, despite his reputation as a hard man. |

Ian St. John
Footballer, football manager and broadcaster, known as The Saint, still holds the record for the quickest hat-trick in Scottish footballing history; three goals in 2 minutes and 30 seconds against Hibernian in 1959. He moved to Liverpool in 1961 and was one of the most successful members of Bill Shankly's team, playing in 424 games and scoring 118 goals for the club. He spent the last years of his playing career at Coventry City (1971-2), then Tranmere Rovers (1972-73) before entering club management with Coventry City, as Assistant Manager (1973), then Manager at Motherwell (1973-4) and Portsmouth (1974-7). He was capped for Scotland 21 times. Although he appeared on television from the late 1970s, it was his partnership with another ex-footballer Jimmy Greaves that brought success. Beginning in 1984, ITV's Saint and Greavsie provided football debate and discussion to the nation on Saturday afternoons. He has also been responsible for encouraging young players through his football academies, the Ian St. John Soccer Camps. |
