Robert Winsor’s first involvement in charity golf began in 1980 when he sponsored the first Robert Winsor Pro-Celebrity Golf Classic. This will be his 13th charity golf tournament, 8 in the UK and this will be the 5th in Mallorca. The previous events raising over €850,000, (UK over €550,000 and over €300,000 in Mallorca). In 1985 Robert, with Dennis Taylor, Cliff Thorburn and Willie Thorne, formed the Snooker Golf Society Charity with Robert both president and organiser. This annual event, in the UK, is still going strong and has bought over 370 electric chairs for handicapped children. Last year Robert was made a life honorary member of Royal Bendinat Golf Club for his work for handicapped children in Mallorca.
